Vision/About Us

    Vision

There are about 20,000 described species of butterflies all over the world. With habitat loss and climate change, the existence of many species is threatened. We want to bring these beautiful animals in the eyes of public via their photography in natural habitats, and work toward their conservation. On a more scientific side, we are working on the taxonomy, ecology as well as natural history of several species to better understand their conservation needs.

    About Us

Sajan K.C. was born in 1994 in the hills of Tanahun, Nepal. He always carried a keen interest in wildlife since childhood. He happened to come across entomology more passionately during the "Insect Collection Assignment" that bachelors students of agriculture are given in their sophomore year. He completed his bachelors in agriculture from Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science (IAAS, Tribhuvan University), Lamjung Campus, in 2018, and now works on the ecology and taxonomy of different insect groups, especially butterflies, while at the same time, raising awareness on their importance among people. He hopes to complete his digital collection and come up with a field book someday. He believes that humans are safe only so long as the insects are safe in nature. He completed his MS degree in biology in 2023 from Eastern New Mexico University.
